It's true what they say: you are your own worst enemy; only you stand in your way.
But why? Let's explore --->
Life is as much a process as it is a journey. We're here to see, learn, and do better–hopefully more each day. Sometimes we have a goal, a destination, or even just something we'd like to experience! But often, we fail.
We fail to begin, to follow through, or to finish a thought or dream or goal.
Just a moment ago, everything we dreamed of was attainable–it seemed easy! So what happened? We got in our own way.
You stood in the way of starting, whether it was in the form of doubt, fear, uncertainty, or just pure laziness and excuses–you let it overtake your ambition, and that sucks.
So what can you do?
It's the simplest thing, yet the hardest to do. It's hard to let go of the precarious details and questions and thoughts of, "What if?"
So you have to change that.
Change your "what if's" to "why not's" and give yourself the kick in the ass you need to get started. Jump in. Go.
It's literally that simple. Forget what you have or what you don't have, and just make it happen. The minute you take that first step and do something different, hit that first goal, or feel a new way, you'll have realized a couple things:
1. it was easy
2. you should've started a lot sooner!
Will it be perfect? No–far from it. But it was something, and that's all that matters. It was a new direction, new outlook, new experience, and that all counts. Trying, doing, making–that's what matters. If either to you, to friends, family, or strangers–all that matters is you tried, started, and got somewhere new.
What doesn't count is waiting. One of my favorite sayings is:
"Wish in one hand, shit in the other, and see which gets filled first."
Need to plan? Okay. Don't have a plan? No problem!
You'll figure it out along the way, I guarantee you.
